LAGUNA ROAD
ALBUM OUT TODAY

It is our great pleasure to write that our fourth album, Laguna Road, is out today.
When we released our first album as Haerts in 2014, the day was charged—euphoric, anxious, full of anticipation. We held our breath and prayed people would love it. Or maybe love us.
Eleven years later, I am not in that place. A release feels different now, and what I feel is gratitude and relief.
We stepped away from this project for the past few years to focus on our family and other dreams. Making this album was a leap of faith, and I only now see why it was so important for us: to return to the beginning. To remember why Benny and I made music at all. It was never simply about success or failure. It was about love—love for the act of creating, love for each other, and the need to give something of ourselves to the world, even if that world was only one other person, sometimes just one of us.
Laguna Road brought us back to that. To falling in love with the process. To the gift of being surrounded by music and by the people who create it.
We wrote and recorded the album at our house on Laguna Road in Pasadena, CA. It was the end of our thirties, a time of redefining ourselves, our relationship, our work. We wanted to dig deep, but also just let it fly, not overthink, and make something unfiltered and vulnerable.
The album is a portrait of us, our family, and our history. The songs are fragments of stories, moments, and the people who have shaped us. In it you will find sweetness and light, heartbreak and tragedy. If we have found anything along the way, it is the notion that to be whole and alive, we have to let all of these parts exist together.
Recently I read Kate DiCamillo’s The Puppets of Spelhorst to my daughter. There is a line I can’t forget: “When I have my kingdom, songs will be sung all the time. Songs that break your heart and heal it too.”
I don’t know if these songs will break and heal you. Making them broke and to some degree healed us. If they bring you a memory, a tear, a smile, a lift of the heart, then they have done their work.
This music is yours now and we thank you for being part of this journey with us.
With all our hearts,
Love always,
Nini & Benny
